The Internet is the trump card that all marketing agencies are currently playing. Through the developments in technology; the opportunity to talk to customers all over the world in real time has never been so easy and affordable. Indeed, there is such a buzz around Internet communications and businesses making tangible returns from utilising its resources, you could be forgiven for thinking this is all new. Larry Page - worth over 17.5 billion US dollars, Larry Page is the co-founder of search engine giant, Google. With his partner Sergey Brin (see below), the pair set up the search engine colossus in the late 1990’s.
Sergey Brin - like his co-founder, Sergey has amassed a fortune in excess of 17.5 billion dollars. The pair went from PHD students to multi millionaires in a little over 5 years.
Jeff Bezos - Arguable one of the great Internet success stories, Jeff founded his business in Seattle (USA) from a garage. Today, his original concept has changed the way we shop. Jeff’s brain child has earned him a reported 12.3 billion dollar fortune. We know his business as Amazon.
Pierre Omidyar - French born Pierre launched ebay in 1995. With worldwide success and a brand that has become synonymous with online shopping, Pierre is worth in the region of 5.2 billion US dollars.
Mark Zuckerberg - Recognise the name?...want a few clues? In early 2004 whilst studying at Harvard University, Mark created a social platform that would change the way we interact and communicate forever. He is said to be worth around 4 billion dollars and made his fortune through his brain child, Facebook.
Peter Thiel - Peter was the first outside investor in Facebook in 2004. He went on to consolidate his 1.2 billion dollar fortune with the PayPal online payment platform.
Stephen Case - his reported wealth is in the region of 1.1 billion US dollars. Stephen is a former Pizza Hut store manager who went on to co-found AOL.
All of these highly successful entrepreneurs have made their fortunes through the Internet by indentifying niche markets that would go on to yield high growth.
